Finished body quill nymph<\/p><\/div>\n

In this fly I used the transparent nature of Hends body quills to create a segmented body effect. \u00a0This fly is broadly representative of agile darters found in most rivers.<\/p>\n
The following series of step by step photos shows how I tied it:<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/p><\/div>\n
- \n
- First put on a bead and tie on some fine white thread.<\/li>\n
- Create a slim white underbody.<\/li>\n
- When you get near the tail of the fly catch in some fine black thread (I used Hends Synton on a second bobbin holder) and the olive Hends Body Quill ( I used the new dual colour type)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Step 2<\/p><\/div>\n
- \n
- Tie in a tail of 2 or 3 Coq de Leon fibres.<\/li>\n
- Wind the black thread towards the bead to create a rib, the twin fibres of Synton need to be spun together with the bobbin holder before doing this. Once you get to the bead tie off the black thread.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- Wind the body quill up the body trap it with the white thread and tie it off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- Dub some Peacock dubbing ( artificial) onto the white thread.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n Copper coated 2.5mm tungsten bead<\/em>
\n Hends Synton black and white threads<\/em>
\n Hends dual colour olive Body Quills<\/em>
\n Coq de Leon tailing<\/em>
\n Peacock dubbing (artificial)<\/em><\/p>\n
- Wind on the dubbing thorax and tie off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
